Why Do You Blog?
Kathleen Fergus, MS, has a blog over at About.com. As a Genetic Counselor, she writes about Down syndrome and has some interesting information over there. You can look at her blog by clicking here.
Today in her blog, she said that she noticed quite a lot of bloggers who are parents of children with Down syndrome. She had concerns about privacy issues and wondered why people blogged openly about their children. I can relate to that. I remember when I first got online years ago, I was kind of picky about putting my kids pictures or names online. But then, I think everything evolved and it was more important for us to get our message out there. My kids are safe. I don’t worry about someone seeing their picture online. We live in the middle of nowhere and it would be pretty difficult for someone random to find us. And for us, we are so out there in the public eye anyway, that honestly I don’t think I could keep everyone from my family. Not that I would want to anyway! I have far too many things to say, and if anyone tried to harm my kids they would wish they were never born anyway!
So, in Kathleen’s blog, she was wondering why others blogged and she wanted feedback from everyone who have children with Down syndrome (or mosaic Down syndrome) who blog.
So, hop on over to Kathleen’s blog and let her know! Click here for her site.
And tell me too! Why do you blog?
