Baby Talk Magazine Honors Down Syndrome Awareness Month

With Down syndrome Awareness month right around the corner, Baby Talk Magazine is once again honoring those with Down syndrome by featuring pictures and a story on Down syndrome for their October edition.

The magazine says, “This month we’re looking for photos of your baby with Down Syndrome, in honor of National Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October. E-mail letters@babytalk.com or write to us: 2 Park Avenue, 10th Floor, New York, NY 10016, Attention: Momspeak. Please include your name, your baby’s name, daytime telephone number, home address, and e-mail address with all submissions.”*Submissions become the property of Bonnier Corp. By submitting a photo, you grant us the perpetual, irrevocable right to use the photo for any purpose in any and all media worldwide.

Photos are already pouring in and honestly they are some of the most adorable babies and toddlers I have ever seen!

You can view all of those great pictures here.

I commend Baby Talk Magazine for doing this for all the parents who have children with any form of Down syndrome. When Tim was first diagnosed, I desperately wanted someone to connect with. I was always disappointed when I would receive one of my parenting magazines and not find any articles on any special needs. This provides a great outlet for parents to connect with one another, realize they are not alone in raising their child, and it spreads awareness to all those parents who read the magazine regardless if their child has Down syndrome or not.
